Pont d'Aël - Aosta Valley

Built in 3 B.C. by two Roman settlers, Aimus and Avilius, over the gorge of the Grand Eyvia, the aqueduct is an imposing piece masonry built using stone blocks measuring 82 m tall and over 50 m in length.
It is one of the most compelling monuments of the Roman era, still perfectly preserved and open for visits.
