Gran Paradiso National Park in Cogne Valley

Gran Paradiso National Park - created in 1922 when King Victor - Emmanuel III of Savoy’s donated his legendary game reserve to the nation – is Italy's oldest national park. It is home to hundreds of protected species of animals and extremely rare plants and flowers all of which coexist in this protected area in one of the most beautiful areas of the Alps.

Once seen as an obstacle to economic growth and progress in the area, over the years, Gran Paradiso National Park has become a beloved and protected sanctuary. Today it skillfully combines environmental protection and sustainable exploitation of the area through a number of initiatives and events.
